I love the Medical field and I have always wanted to work on my computer. I want to become a Medical Transcriptionist for several reasons. First of all, I was a Medical Specialist in the US Army, but due to injuries to my back, I am unable to go further and get my nursing degree. I love the medical field and want to study and stay in the medical field. Second and this is the most important one, my husband is a multiple Stroke patient and needs twenty-four hour care. I need to be able to work and care for him at the same time. Right now I have to leave him for ten hours to work an eight hour job, because I cannot afford to pay someone to stay with him while I am out. Due to my husband’s illness, we are in a deep financial bind and I am the only one to try and get us above water.
We are on the verge of losing everything. I need to be able to work and care for him at the same time. I was looking on the internet trying to find work at home medical transcription jobs. I am interested in learning all that I can and so I can work an online typing job at home. I like Future MT, because you can train in the fields I am interested in and also because they have good reports from the BBB. As for my education, I have a lot of different interests and their school can offer me a lot of different training. I want to go as far as possible and get my MS some day. I have always been a self taught type. I know a lot because I taught myself. I love to read and I spend time on the computer learning whatever I can find. The only problem is I have no finances to invest in my training, which causes me to not get a job that will allow me to use what I know. SN:0MA9N2ESY
I maybe qualified from knowledge, but can’t get the job because I have no schooling or degree to back me up. Within one year, I want to have a good paying job from home that I was able to get due to the training from your school. I would feel so much better not having to leave my husband alone for ten hours. Within five years, I hope to have my degree to further my employment opportunities. Also I would have the knowledge that I have finally accomplished my lifelong dream of a degree. Within ten years, I want to have my MS and receive a degree in the law enforcement as well as medical. I have a love for learning and want to learn all I can in the medical field and law enforcement field and also everything in the computer world.

The major reason for wanting to train in Medical Transcription it will allow me to work from home. I recently had a very bad bout with an illness and it prevented me from working. But with my illness which is psoriasis it became very difficult for me to wear clothing or be out in the cold. I am a night person and it would be good for me because I can work at night since I don’t sleep much. Hopefully with working I will be able to relax more and not worry about bills and know that my work will be done because I won’t miss any time off for illness. You see I am by profession a Stylist and Barber. Aside from that it is not good to work with people in the beauty industry when they see how your skin gets, although, they really were nice. But I know it made them uncomfortable.
I tried for awhile but I found it hard to ignore. I am now living with my daughter and she has helped me more than anyone and now she is feeling the crunch and I need to really start helping her and this would be my only way, you see I also help her with my granddaughter because she is a diabetic and my daughter works over an hour away. I am able to pick her up and be home with her if she needs anything. I also take her to her games and other things she needs to do. I am as they say the emergency person. She should be getting her license in about 3 years. By then with my training I will be able to do more for my family. I already have the computer training because I took a course at Ridley Lowell in Poughkeepsie, NY, on all the Microsoft software and can type about 60 words a minute. Still have that and use the computer all the time that’s how I found you. SN:0MA9N2ESY
I feel at some point we will be able to move to a warmer climate then I can possibly work in a Hospital or other facility. I had my own business for almost 14 years and did very well, so I could start a business and possibly help other seniors who need to supplement their income. Which I am aware is becoming more and more the normal I know some that would jump at a chance to work at something if someone would show them. On a more personnel note I have had to give up my home and have taken financial loss, due to this economy and my trust was taken advantage of with some property that I should have received funds to continue and start my own business again. I went through a divorce and had to try to start over, it was too much and then I got sick. My physician feels that being able to work at my own pace such as medical transcription at home or any other online typing job, it would not bring on my illness again which is now in remission. But they say you never get more than you can handle.

I would like to become a medical transcriptionist because I love to work from home and I did research on the internet about the pay and it is on average 40,000 dollars a year. I also want to become a medical transcriptionist because I can learn more about a different area in the medical field. See, I went to Penn Foster and received my diploma in dental assisting and now I am familiar with medical terminology and would like to make use of that knowledge in medical transcription. What drove me to choose medical transcription was the severe poverty that I am currently in not able to pay bills and not being where I think I should be. I have bi-polar disorder so I chose medical transcription because I can do my work at home and not around people because I find that it’s difficult because I have social anxiety face-to-face but not on the phone or over the internet. Also I never really had anyone in my family to help me in any way, I always had to do things on my own I was always very independent and when I said something I usually always did it when it came to schooling. Knowing what I know now I can tell you that doing things on my own made me stronger and made me push myself that much harder to be successful because I really never had any help when I was falling. My family was never there for me so it made me look at what my abilities were and then I decided to use the gifts that god blessed me with and then begin to start looking on the internet to find something that fit my personality like a online typing job. I am a good teacher and I plan to use my talents to help people become medical transcriptionists for free because I know how it feels to be in poverty and I wouldn’t want a person in poverty to have to suffer most of their life because they cannot afford an education to help themselves. One thing that all this taught me was to have compassion for others. Some advantages of working in the medical transcription industry are good pay, ability to work independently, prestige, and the ability to learn medical terminology and know what it means. Working from home means that I can wear whatever I want save money on food everyday at lunch hour, save money and time not having to commute every day, and the ability to have the freedom to do what you want. I am interested in training with Future MT because I can receive a very good education through them and learn at my own pace. I can graduate in 3-6 months. I am also interested in training with Future MT because all of the classes are online. When it comes to me figuring out what my education and career goals I would have to say first I would finish my education through Future MT and then I would find a medical transcription at home job then I would work for about 1 year and then go back to school to receive an associate’s degree in medical transcription. And lastly I would start going to the library and ordering books on how to start your own business in medical transcription.

Speaking with my mother about getting a online typing job, I decided upon becoming a medical transcriptionist. The idea had crossed my mind before, but hearing her speak of all the benefits of the job and the tremendous help you are capable of doing for others really impacted my thoughts on it. I began researching different reports on the internet to better my understanding of the job. Though, strenuous it may be when doing for a long period of time, it is definitely a great public service and really helps the doctors catch a little bit of a break between all the activities they are involved in during their packed work weeks! Becoming a part of the medical field has always been my main dream. My mother, who inspired me to, not only reach for, but to achieve my goals, had a tough life. Without a stable environment to grow up in, she married at a young age and did not complete college and never got a degree in any type of specific field. I have witnessed her struggles through raising my two brothers and myself and going through an ugly (to put it into light terms) divorce. She had to take the rough route and get minimum paying jobs to support our broken family. SN:0MA9N2ESY
My father changed his course in life at the time of their divorce and started a ‘new’ family-leaving my mother and us children to survive on our own. With me being 13-years-old and my brother being just 14, we could not go to work yet to help her pay the bills. We lost our house, our family, our hometown, and all the friends we made through our lives in the town we grew up in while my parents were still together. Seeing is believing. I am a strong believer in working for a living and not having to struggle to just ‘get by’. As I sit here writing this, my mother is still in a bad position in life with my younger brother, now from a new marriage, and her husband who is out of a job. When my parents divorced, my mother, my brother and I had moved to Biloxi, Mississippi to live with relatives until we were able to get an apartment. I am sure you all have heard of the impact Hurricane Katrina had on the lives of those affected. We were there. We lost everything we had ever owned on top of everything else that we had already lost in our lives. This just goes to show that you never know when you are going to have to just pick up and start over. Whether it is family or nature, there is always a way to get off track. With a jobs typing work home, I believe I would be able to always have a plan. The job outline allows for working from home and still making a good living. The comfort of having a steady job that you can always count on would be awesome.
