As a child, I taught myself to play the piano and read music, and went on to study piano for over 12 years. As a result, I have always had very good keyboarding skills. While in college I worked doing data entry. At that time, data entry standards were an average of 20,000 keystrokes per hour (kph), and I was typing at a rate of 70,000-80,000 kph. When I moved to another city and went to an employment agency, they told me that I couldn’t tell potential employers what my speed was because they would think I was making it up! Throughout my life, my typing speed has been a great benefit to me as I have worked in the computer and publishing industries. I have always been very interested in the health and medical fields, and being an avid reader, my bookshelves are lined with books on these topics.

Since at this point in my life I need to retrain for a new career, based on my interests and existing skills, medical transcription jobs seem to fit me perfectly. With my keyboard speed, editing skills, love of the computer, and medical interests, I am sure that I will love medical transcription. With the growth predications for this field, I expect that it will provide a dependable career with many opportunities, even in this lagging economy. The advantages of a career in medical transcription that I am going to enjoy most are flexibility and the potential to do medical transcription at home. I love working in my home office at my own computer, being able to dress comfortably and go barefoot if I want, being able to take a break to exercise, and to cook and eat my meals at home. Plus there is the added benefit of earning more as I get faster at transcription. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I am also really excited about the prospect of seeing my earnings climb as my speed builds. I am looking forward to learning medical transcription from FutureMT because they offer the best overall medical transcription training that I have found, and with the guarantees they offer, there is little to risk to enrolling in their course. I really appreciate having so much information available on the website to inform and educate the potential student about the course. I recommend that anyone who is considering a medical transcription course should thoroughly explore the FutureMT website, especially the FAQ pages. It is so easy to navigate and informative. Based on this information, the software-driven training system appears to be leading-edge technology. Having the text embedded is very convenient, and the games and dictation challenges will keep it interesting and fun. Being able to see sample pages from the software, and read about how it works has really made me eager to get started, because I can see how easy the course will be to follow. Compared to other courses I have investigated, this comprehensive course is more affordably priced, and has better financing options, and even the opportunity to win a scholarship.

I Want to Remain in the Medical Field

Friday, April 30th, 2010

I would like to become a medical transcriptionist because I feel like I would be able to remain in the medical field without having to do the everyday patient care. I have medical issues that have hindered me from continuing on my path of becoming a nurse. I am recovering from back surgery done earlier this year and I have not been authorized to return to work. This back surgery was done because of degenerative discs. I feel that if I could do medical transcription at home. I would be able to do the work every day without the constraints of being in an office setting. I love to type and currently type 80 WPM and feel that I could help a doctor or other medical facilities by transcribing what they have dictated in a timely manner. Being as I am unable to return to the work force out in the community I believe that I would be able to use my expertise in medical terminology as well as anatomy and physiology to expedite the transcription process.

Some of the advantages of getting into the medical transcription industry are that I am able to work from my own home. I would have the ability to do some work and if I needed to get up for a few minutes to stretch or because of back pain I would be able to do so without any hesitation. Another advantage would be that I could go with my husband to medical appointments as he is disabled without having to worry about having to take personal time off of work to do it. The main advantage for me is that I would still be working in the medical profession which I love. Since my medical problems started I have not been able to work in the nursing homes or hospitals because I can no longer do the direct patient care.

With being a medical transcriptionist I would still be able to keep all of the medical terms and procedures fresh in my mind and use them to help the physicians have the information in a timely manner. Some of the reasons why I would like to train with Future MT are because I have researched at home medical transcription jobs and the Future MT’s site explained everything about the profession. There were different tabs readily accessible for me to go into and have all of my questions answered. After reading the information on the site I feel like this is definitely is a career that I would thoroughly enjoy doing for many years to come. SN:0MA9N2ESY

A benefit that I find very interesting and glad to see is that there is support that I can go to if I need it for any reason. As well I found a great benefit is that there are employment guarantees that would help me to find a job once I have finished the course. Some of the future goals that I have in the MT industry are first, that I will be able to work hard to make sure pass the course without any problem. Once I do pass this course and start working in the field I will find out what I would need to do in order to become certified as this will help even more with that employer as well as any other that may be interested in my skills. Once I am certified I can then network myself on different web sites so that I am able to recruit more doctors or facilities for me to work with.

Medical Transcription

I was recently visiting a family member and I was telling them how I would love to find a job that I could do from my home and also be a full time mom and wife. She informed me of working on line and doing medical transcription at home. I was told that the benefits were wonderful and she had so much more time with her family and she was able to set her own hours and her children and her husband were much happier with the time that she was able to give them. She also felt like a better person and had a sense of accomplishment. Needless to say I went home that night and started researching jobs in medical transcription. I am a very hard worker and I love the feeling of accomplishment and making myself a better person. I don’t want a job, I want permanent career. I feel like with this career I can always have higher goals to reach and my opportunities are endless. I have worked in the medical business before, and I know the hard work and dedication that it takes to make this career choice work and be affective. My goal in life is to take care of my family and also have time to be with them and enjoy the time that I have with them. SN:0MA9N2ESY

Due to the economy, I am working full time, and trying juggling a home, being a good mother and having energy to play with my daughter after work, and being a good wife. My job now requires so much of my time and even more of my energy, that I can’t keep my house clean, I have no energy and I am barely bringing home enough to be proud of. As far as where I see myself in two or five or ten or twenty year. Well I hope to be some day running my own Medical Transcription Business. I want to be able to make my family breakfast and get my daughter on the bus, and then be able to get on-line and know that I am working from home and bringing home a pay check that I am proud of. I currently work from one in the morning till five in the morning. Then I go back to work after my daughter is on the bus and I get home just in time to get my daughter of the bus and start supper for my family. I am always tired and I have no way to better myself with my current job. I am only twenty four; I want to be able to tell my children that I didn’t wait for the right opportunity to come my way. I know that with this career I WILL be able to say that I took the right steps and I took the action to better myself and in the long run it bettered the people that I loved. I hope and pray that this career works for me and I am looking forward to start as soon as possible.

Medical Transcription

The major reason for wanting to train in Medical Transcription it will allow me to work from home. I recently had a very bad bout with an illness and it prevented me from working. But with my illness which is psoriasis it became very difficult for me to wear clothing or be out in the cold. I am a night person and it would be good for me because I can work at night since I don’t sleep much. Hopefully with working I will be able to relax more and not worry about bills and know that my work will be done because I won’t miss any time off for illness. You see I am by profession a Stylist and Barber. Aside from that it is not good to work with people in the beauty industry when they see how your skin gets, although, they really were nice. But I know it made them uncomfortable.

I tried for awhile but I found it hard to ignore. I am now living with my daughter and she has helped me more than anyone and now she is feeling the crunch and I need to really start helping her and this would be my only way, you see I also help her with my granddaughter because she is a diabetic and my daughter works over an hour away. I am able to pick her up and be home with her if she needs anything. I also take her to her games and other things she needs to do. I am as they say the emergency person. She should be getting her license in about 3 years. By then with my training I will be able to do more for my family. I already have the computer training because I took a course at Ridley Lowell in Poughkeepsie, NY, on all the Microsoft software and can type about 60 words a minute. Still have that and use the computer all the time that’s how I found you. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I feel at some point we will be able to move to a warmer climate then I can possibly work in a Hospital or other facility. I had my own business for almost 14 years and did very well, so I could start a business and possibly help other seniors who need to supplement their income. Which I am aware is becoming more and more the normal I know some that would jump at a chance to work at something if someone would show them. On a more personnel note I have had to give up my home and have taken financial loss, due to this economy and my trust was taken advantage of with some property that I should have received funds to continue and start my own business again. I went through a divorce and had to try to start over, it was too much and then I got sick. My physician feels that being able to work at my own pace such as medical transcription at home or any other online typing job, it would not bring on my illness again which is now in remission. But they say you never get more than you can handle.

Medical Transcription at Home

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

I’m looking into medical transcription at home because I have a 16 month old son and I take care of my 90 year old grandmother. I Feel that I need to make a better life for the both of the as well as myself and I think if I’m a work at home medical transcriptionist, I can still take care of the both of them. My son motivated me the most because I want to wake up every day and make sure that I’m his inspiration in his life. I would like to spend more time at home with the two people that mean the most to me and I know that my grandmother does not have that much time in this world. She is going to be 90 years old October 19th and she having heart surgery soon.

I think this is a great opportunity for me to start a career. I would like to pursue my career in the medical field so that I can help more people. My goals are to work with kids and in a hospital, and I would like to go back to school and get a degree. I’ve been wanting to pursue this for about a year but I been taking care of everyone else and now it’s time to take care of myself and make some money. Maybe I was not too serious, but I can remember that sensation of bursting in my veins and butterflies in my stomach every time I watched the Discovery Health Channel go to the operating room and display a medical procedure, a show that terrified my mother but intrigued and fascinated her little daughter.

As I grew up, my decision never changed. While my friends passed from wanting to be astronauts to veterinarians to police officers, I knew that I would never fit in any other occupation, and so not only them but my teachers noticed my determination and I became the most requested science tutor in my junior high. I want to contribute to the medical world by solving the mysteries of our brain. I also believe in what many people call the power of the mind. It is amazing how some people develop parts in their brain that enables them having especial qualities and abilities. SN:0MA9N2ESY

On the other side, apart from my research contribution to science, I want to be able to talk to my patients and be a humanitarian doctor; medicine should reach very single social level and economic level, to people of all the ethnicities and all languages. I believe in the healing power of laugh and of happiness. I would like to teach my patients live healthier and happier lives, and be able to teach them about their conditions and what science can do for them. I believe there is a connection between one’s mind and what I call our soul. If one can connect these two things and use them together for the sake of healing, miracles can happen I also want to know more about the human body and its intrinsic functions. Some people call me a dreamer, but I would say I am a person with clear goals. Am I too young to know what it really takes to be a doctor? No, it was clear for me since I was six years old.
